Day on the Green is one of the most praised festivals in all of Australia. The event usually hosts at least 30 different performances across the spring period throughout various different locations in Australia. The capacity of each event can be anywhere between 5,000 and 11,000 people. People visiting Day on the Green have the option of bringing their own food and the event even has a ‘picnic of the day’ prize.
Hunter Valley Events
Hunter Valley is a great place to visit during the spring period. Visitors will be able to enjoy a spot of world class opera, jazz and art against the beautiful backdrop of vineyards and wineries. With a wide selection of events to enjoy, such as Jazz in the Vines, Festival of Flowers and Bimbadgen Blues festival, there will be something to suit every taste.
Art lovers will be in awe of the free outdoor exhibitions that are held across the Wollombi Valley Wine Trail. Here, people will be able to enjoy the magnificent artwork and have the opportunity to sample locally made wines.
Jazz at the Vines is a seven hour festival that has two different stages. Visitors will be able to see some of the biggest names in the Australian jazz scene whilst enjoying a picnic under the blistering heat.
People who prefer to escape the festivities can enjoy numerous unrelated activities, including the Hunter Valley Bushwalk, skydiving and hot air balloon rides.
